Well it's Tuesday. Because of Columbus day I missed Miscellany Monday which is my no brain blog day. So here are some things I did because of Columbus day...
... I finished Toby's First Scrapbook, and by finish I mean filled, and by filled I mean reached November 2009 in his life ( he was born in September 2009!). I scrapped 12 pages with my friend Casey on Sunday (some after she left) and had an absolute ball.
... I made two meatloaves. Husby just discovered the meatloaf sandwich so now we have to make two every time. This was Toby's first meatloaf and he loved it.
... I crocheted, I am making Toby a single breasted blazer for Thanksgiving, adventurous I know. I have almost finished the back piece and it is going much faster than I thought. However I have yet to get to any of the pieces that involve more than a simple Half Double Crochet stitch back and forth!
... I watched The West Wing. This is my go to show for an hour of laundry folding, tidying downstairs or, as was the case last night, the do nothing for an hour show, ah how good doing nothing feels every so often.
... I read, no not Anna Karenina alas, I read a chapter of the book we are doing in our church small group, not sure this was related to Columbus day in anyway but I did it regardless.
... I hiked. The three of us packed ourselves up and went to Saco Heath for two hours to wander around in the woods, it was perfect, wonderful and everything that a fall day in Maine should be.
... I walked around the Old Port in Portland. You have no idea how wonderful a day this can be until you experience it. Every big city has one. The old cobbled area of town full of independent stores, statues and coffee shops. Toby loved it, especially when I got him a new book to read (eat) and gave him a biscuit to eat (play with).
I love three day weekends. Hope you all got one and enjoy the four day work week!
I love 3-day weekends when we get extra time with the hubs at home. And we love meatloaf here too, meatloaf sandwiches are the best!
